Levante High-Speed Line. Seseña–Aranjuez Section

The Seseña–Aranjuez section forms part of the Levante High-Speed Rail Access Project, a strategic railway infrastructure developed to connect Madrid with Castilla-La Mancha, the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia through a high-capacity railway corridor designed for double-track operation on standard gauge. With a total length of 8.62 km, the project involved extensive earthworks, major civil engineering structures, drainage systems and utility diversions, ensuring compliance with the geometric and operational requirements of high-speed rail traffic

Among the most significant structures within the project are the Tagus River Viaduct, approximately 1,060 m long, the Aranjuez–Alcázar de San Juan Railway Viaduct, measuring 145 m, and the Dehesa Nueva del Rey Cut-and-Cover Tunnel, with a length of 1,000 m and a large cross-sectional area. These structures accounted for a substantial portion of the reinforced concrete and deep foundation works executed throughout the project

ERSIGROUP was responsible for the supply, fabrication and installation of reinforcement steel for piles, piers, viaduct decks, retaining walls and the sidewalls and vault of the cut-and-cover tunnel. The scale of the project required the implementation of industrialized reinforcement prefabrication and preassembly processes, enabling the optimization of repetitive high-volume structural elements, improving installation productivity and ensuring the highest standards of quality and traceability

Particular attention was given to the prefabrication of reinforcement cages for the tunnel vault and sidewalls, as well as the climbing reinforcement systems used in the construction of the Tagus River Viaduct piers. The industrialization of these reinforcement solutions played a key role in achieving high production rates and maintaining construction efficiency throughout the project

The combination of detailed engineering, reinforcement optimization and industrialized fabrication contributed significantly to meeting the construction schedule and to the successful delivery of one of the most technically demanding sections of the Madrid–Levante High-Speed Rail Line
