Siete Aguas–Buñol High-Speed Line

The Siete Aguas–Buñol section forms part of the Levante High-Speed Rail Access Project, a strategic railway infrastructure developed to connect Madrid with the Valencian Community through a high-performance rail corridor designed for high-speed operation across complex mountainous terrain. With a total length of 11.2 km, the alignment crosses a rugged topography that required the construction of major underground structures and viaducts to meet the stringent geometric requirements of high-speed rail infrastructure.

The project included the construction of three main tunnels: La Cabrera Tunnel, with a length of 7,157 m, Siete Aguas Tunnel, measuring 424 m, and Buñol Tunnel, with a length of 191 m. In addition, two significant viaducts were executed, including the Masseguer Ravine Viaduct, measuring 224 m in length, and the Rambla del Gallo Viaduct, with a total length of 50 m.

ERSIGROUP participated in the supply, fabrication and installation of reinforcement steel for tunnels, viaducts, auxiliary structures and precast tunnel lining segments. The high production demands of the project required the implementation of industrialized manufacturing processes, reinforcement optimization and preassembly systems, enabling improved construction productivity while maintaining stringent quality standards.

Particularly noteworthy were the reinforcement cages manufactured for the false tunnel vaults, the viaduct structures and the large-scale production of reinforcement for precast segments used in tunnel boring machine (TBM) excavation works. These solutions were developed to facilitate handling, installation and quality control while optimizing overall project performance.

The combination of detailed engineering, industrialized reinforcement production and advanced logistics planning enabled high production rates throughout the project, contributing to the successful delivery of one of Spain’s most important high-speed railway infrastructures within the national High-Speed Rail Network.
