DESCRIPTION
ERSI Group manufactured and assembled industrial corrugated steel reinforcements.
Line 1 of the Panama metro, the first in Central America, is structured in 14 stations (6 elevated, 7 underground and 1 semi-underground); two trenches (where the train passes from the flyover to underground), five ventilation shafts; as well as the industrial backyard and workshop area where the operating centre of the railway transport system is located.
The construction phase envisaged the carrying out of a total of 15.9 kilometres of extension, of which 7.5 kilometres are underground, 7.1 kilometres elevated and 1.3 kilometres in trenches. Its execution has been carried out in record time: just over three years.
The route is in a corridor of high demand for public transport, and it was carried out not occupying road spaces, using underground and elevated stretches.
First metro of Central America.
