Sacyr-Vallehermoso Tower (now the PwC Tower)
Now known as the Sacyr Tower or PwC Tower, it forms part of Madrid’s iconic Cinco Torres Business Area complex, one of Spain’s most representative urban and construction developments. Standing 236 metres tall and with a floor area of over 72,000 m², the building became one of the tallest skyscrapers in the country and a benchmark for high-rise construction using reinforced concrete and steel structures
ERSIGROUP The company was involved in the construction of the structure by supplying, fabricating and erecting reinforcement for the foundations, central core and structural elements of the building. Construction began in January 2005 and required complex technical and logistical coordination, with teams of between 450 and 500 workers on site each day. During the works, more than 112,920 tonnes of earth were moved and 72,064 m³ of concrete were used, reinforced with more than 18,400 tonnes of corrugated steel
The high level of productivity achieved enabled both the structure and the central core to be constructed at an average rate of one storey every six days, thanks to the industrialisation of construction processes, thorough planning and the use of prefabricated reinforcement. The project also stood out for its use of large-diameter bars, reinforcement with complex geometries and solutions specifically designed to optimise performance and ensure structural quality
The collaboration between the site’s technical teams and ERSIGROUP made it possible to streamline the reinforcement design, improve the installation processes and contribute to the success of one of the most iconic towers on Madrid’s skyline
