ERSIGROUP Carries out the supply, shaping, and assembly of industrial ribbed steel reinforcement
The Morelia Motorway is a strategic transportation infrastructure developed to improve regional connectivity within the State of Michoacán and optimize long-distance traffic by bypassing the urban area of Morelia. With an overall length of approximately 63 kilometres, the new high-capacity motorway was designed to relieve congestion along one of the principal road corridors in central Mexico, significantly reducing travel times, improving road safety and increasing the capacity of the logistics corridor linking western Mexico with the national highway network
From a structural engineering perspective, the project involved the construction of numerous viaducts, overpasses, underpasses, drainage structures, retaining walls and reinforced concrete structures, designed to accommodate the challenging mountainous terrain and natural watercourses encountered along the alignment. The execution of these structures required a high level of coordination between earthworks, deep foundations, bridge deck construction and ancillary works, ensuring uninterrupted operation of the existing transport infrastructure while meeting demanding construction schedules
From the perspective of fabricated reinforcing steel, the project represented a large-scale operation involving the industrialized production of reinforcement for foundations, bored piles, abutments, bridge piers, beams, structural slabs, retaining walls and drainage structures. The repetitive nature of many structural components enabled the implementation of advanced reinforcement optimization, bar scheduling and industrial fabrication processes, significantly improving productivity while ensuring high dimensional accuracy and rigorous quality control throughout the construction programme
ERSIGROUP participated in the supply, fabrication and installation of approximately 8,000 tonnes of reinforcing steel, delivering engineering solutions focused on optimizing steel consumption and facilitating the construction of the various structural elements forming part of the motorway. The integration of detailed engineering, industrial fabrication and specialized logistics ensured a continuous supply of reinforcement to multiple construction fronts, reducing installation times, improving on-site safety and guaranteeing full traceability of the reinforcing steel throughout the execution of the project
The combination of detailed engineering, industrialized reinforcement fabrication and specialized logistics enabled the successful delivery of one of the most important highway infrastructure projects recently developed in the State of Michoacán, further strengthening ERSIGROUP‘s expertise in major road infrastructure through advanced fabricated reinforcing steel solutions for bridges, viaducts and highway structures
